When you are doing foundaiton pilling work, you may encounter different types of rocks such as granite, limestone ect, but do you know how it classified? here based on rock formation, we can classify rocks into 3 types.
Magmatic rocks, also known as igneous rocks,formed by magma beneath the crust that rises along weak areas of the earth's crust and invades from the surface. Magmatic rocks can be further divided into intrusive rocks and ejected rocks. Intrusive rocks are mainly represented such as granite, and ejected rocks are mainly represented such as basalt.
Sedimentary rocks, also known as aqueous rocks formed by the formation of loose deposits such as debris, colloids and organic matter that accumulate on land or sea. Sedimentary rocks mainly include limestone, dolomite, conglomerate, sandstone, mudstone, shale etc.
Metamorphic rocks are new rocks formed by the original magmatic rocks, sedimentary rocks due to crustal movement and magmatic activity. Including marble, gneiss, quartzite etc
